Johnnie Johnson, Jr. was born February 23, 1933 to Johnnie Johnson, Sr. and Eddie Pink Green in Ripley, Tennessee.
He accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior a short time ago in the presence of his loving family.
Johnnie worked for many years as a mobile mechanic which gave him great joy and accomplishment. He also worked as a television repairman. He was a great father and grandfather. He enjoyed bowling and camping.
He is preceded in death by his parents; Johnnie Johnson, Sr. and Eddie Pink Green; two brothers, Freddie Jackson and Willie Jackson; and one sister, Geraldine Jackson.
Johnnie went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 31, 2018 at Prairie Manor Nursing and Rehab Center in Chicago Heights, Illinois.
He is survived by his loving children; Linda Bruce, Fannie Easter, Joni Bell, Harold (Cynthia) Johnson, Troy Johnson, Nancy Sangster and Irene McCory; four sisters, Dorothy Whitten, Everleana Jenkins, Fannie Jackson and Lurlene Smith; two brothers, Joe Jackson and Elvis Jackson; 23 grandchildren; and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
