Lionel Dwayne Loper, Sr. (Vinnie, Wee feet) was born on September 21, 1978 to Mattie Pearl Loper. God called him home on Friday, December 28, 2018.
He accepted Christ at a young age and continued in his faith. He attended Joliet Public Schools and graduated from Joliet West High School. He was employed as a laborer locally for Walmart Warehouse and worked for a short time at DHL warehouse. He was also an entrepreneur and prepared taxes for family and friends.
Lionel had a love for sports, grilling and fishing. He specifically loved the Chicago sports teams; the Bulls, Bears and the Cubs. He loved playing anything with competition, because he almost always won. His favorite games were Family Feud, Atari, PlayStation and Wii. Lionel was also a founding member of Heaven City, Inc. (a local record label) where he did everything that was needed.
Lionel was preceded in death by his son, Lijah Loper; father, Jack McCormick; grandparents, Elijah and Ruby Traylor and brothers, Tyrone and Eddie McCormick.
Lionel leaves to celebrate and cherish his memories; four children, Lexus, Lionae, Lionel Jr. and Lijahna Loper; mother Mattie (Traylor) Loper; siblings, Lisa Loper-Houston, Doris, James and Garland McCormick; favorite nieces and nephew, Mary, Mylisa and Dondre; great nieces and nephews, Aaliyah, Jay and Jiyah Houston; aunts, Pearl Perry, Bessie Nobles and Linda Traylor; uncles, Roy (Eloise) Traylor of Millry, AL, Stanley Traylor of Plainfield, IL and Tommie McDonald and Mack McCormick, both of Chicago, IL; and a host of special relatives and friends.
Interment following @ Elmhurst Cemetery, Joliet, IL.
