Sherman Tatum Obituary
Sherman Tatum was born November 4, 1960 in Chicago, IL and departed this life Friday, July 27, 2018.
He attended Joliet East High School, Joliet Junior College and DeVry University. Sherman retired after 38 years of service in the Mechanical Maintenance Department with ComEd, Midwest Generation and NRG respectively.
Sherman was united in Holy Matrimony on September 25, 2005 to Holly Nicole Morris and to this union one son, Alexander Jakari Tatum was born.
Sherman was a kind man with a big heart and a big smile (OR an even bigger smile), who loved and was so proud of his family.
He was preceded in death by his father Johnnie B. Tatum and grandparents.
Sherman's legacy will live on by those whom he loved, his loving wife, Holly and youngest son, Alexander Jakari Tatum, his eldest son, Sherman Tyree Tatum ( Myatri). He also leaves, in God's care, his mother, Mae Frances McGilvery; stepfather, Obbie McGilvery; parents in-law, Henry and Anna Morris; brother, Norman (Jennifer) Tatum; sisters, Shirley Tatum, Janice (James) Sheard and Janette McClinton; sister-in-law, April (Terence) Tarver; nieces, Brittany Tatum, Jamie Gaskin, Lauren Tatum, Summer Sheard and Camryn Tarver; nephews, Jason White-Jenkins, Bryan and Devan Sheard, Christopher, Nicholas and Anthony McClinton and Jacob Tarver; grandchildren, Madison, Cameron, Jaden, and Timothy; his aunts, uncles and cousins.
