William “Red” Hamilton was born on January 25, 1950 in Sylvarena, Mississippi to the union of Matthew Sr. and Vider (Carr) Hamilton. His family relocated to Joliet, Illinois in 1952. William departed his life on March 22, 2024.
He graduated from Joliet Central High School and retired from Caterpillar. William enjoyed fishing, working in his yard, barbequing, ordering take out and watching movies on Ella’s off days…our movie night.
William was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Matthew, Charles and J.W.; brothers-in-law, Armour Wood and Clemon Breath.
William leaves in God’s care; his wife, Ella; sons, Damon (Courtney) Hamilton and Jerry Moffett; siblings, Bill (Earnestine), Anne Woods, Betty (Aaron) Booker, Elbert (Jeanette), Alex (Ann), Shirley Breath, Geneva (Carl) Breath; brothers-in-law, Jettie Morris, Dexter (Jenifer) Morris, James (Tamekia) Gaddis; sisters-in-law, Geraldine Hamilton, Paula (Sylvester) Thomas, and Cheryl (George-deceased) Moffett; grandchildren, Alexis, Cameron, Brooklyn, Cash, Shantel (Teddy) Joinae, and Jazmyn; three great grandchildren and numerous nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
