Albirdia Price

Albirdia Price, was born on December 23, 1933 in McDonough, Georgia, to Ulysee and Zellie Wynn who preceded her in death.

Albirdia accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age. After coming to Chicago, she joined Star Light St. James Missionary Baptist Church where she was an Usher for many years. She later, with her husband Isiah Sr. (Ike), joined New Faith Missionary Baptist Church where she served on the Usher Board.

Albirdia and Isiah Sr. life together was a Love Story. They met as children and were both educated in the Henry County school system. On her 18th birthday in 1951, she and Isiah married. In December 2018 they celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary. From this union they had one son Isiah Price Jr. who preceded her in death. They also raised Felicia Thomas who is their God-daughter.
Like many African American families they migrated to Chicago to have a better life. Albirdia entered the workforce where she worked at a couple different jobs, before being hired at Western Electric where she worked for over 20 years until it closed. She later worked at BRIA Health Service – Forest Edge.

Albirdia loved life, she enjoyed traveling and was known for her fantastic cooking. When friends and family would come from out of town, her home was always opened.  She loved the Lord and often quoted scripture.

Albirdia will truly be missed, especially from the love of her life Ike who affectionately called her “Fuzzy.”

On Sunday, February 10, 2019, Albirdia was called home.

She leaves to cherish her loving memories, her husband Isiah Price Sr., brother Ulysee (Minnie) Wynn, sisters, Geraldine Tarpley, Angeline Duffy and Malfa Jean White, brother-in-law William (sister Eula Mae Gordon preceded her in death) Gordon, daughter-in-law, Veronica Buchanan-Price. Grandchildren, Glenn Hogue, Isiah (Jessica) Price III and Wallina Buchanan.  God-daughter Felicia Thomas, five great-grandchildren and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
