Carla Michelle Hollins was born November 14, 1971 to the union of Willie E. Hollins and Frankie Mae Tyler. She left this life on earth suddenly on Monday, October 8, 2018 at Presence St. Joseph Medical Center in Joliet, Illinois.
Carla lived in Joliet most of her life from 1971 to 2004, then moved her son to Huntsville, Alabama. Her main purpose for moving to Alabama was to form a tight knit relationship with her sister, Renee. They did everything together, from traveling to frequent Friday night movie outings, in fact, that was their favorite past time. When she wasn't spending time with her sister, she was nurturing her one and only son, Geonte, also known as Mootie. She loved Mootie with all her heart and cherished their relationship. She also had a lifelong companion, Clarence "CMac" McNeil. She adored Clarence and had a very special place in her heart for him; they were best friends and shared many dreams and aspirations together. Carla had a very expressive imagination and was quite crafty. She loved to draw and was very talented. She was quite funny and laughed at all her jokes, in which she thought was hilarious. She thought something was wrong with you if you didn't laugh.
Carla confessed the Lord Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at a tender age and was grounded in her faith. She was a prayer warrior and loved the Lord unconditionally.
Carla was preceded in death by her parents (Willie and Frankie), her older sister, Carolyn, her younger brother, Michael; her paternal and maternal grandparents, and many aunts, uncles, cousins and dearest friends.
Carla was very special to us and leaves many to cherish and celebrate her precious memories; among those her son, Geonte Khiree Roberts of Joliet, IL and her lifelong companion, Clarence C. McNeil and his sons, CJ and Reign; brother, Vincent E. Hollins of Joliet, IL; sister, Renee Hollins Kelly (Keith) of Huntsville, AL; a special aunt/sister, Danette Hillard-Reed of Madison, WI; step-brother, Reginald Dobson and three step-sisters, Aneesha Dobson, Ann nd Vette Abbott. In addition, she leaves four nieces, Owida and Chene McCarter of Joliet, IL; Destiny L. Hollins of Peoria, IL and Nyona J. Hollins of Indianapolis, IN; a nephew, Jeffery Kelly of Tampa, FL; a great niece, Chelisa McCarter; a god-niece, Taylor Robinson and numerous cousins, aunts, uncles and friends.
