Charles Henry Johnson died on May 30, 2019. He was born May 5, 1954 in Chicago, Illinois to Agnes (nee Williams) and Charlie Johnson. At the age of seven, he moved with his family to Joliet, Illinois. He was educated in the Joliet public schools and graduated from Joliet East High Schools with honors. He then attended the University of Iowa and later the Illinois Institute of Technology, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering. After graduating, he moved to Minnesota and then settled in California where he spent most of his life. While working as an engineer, he worked at such as companies Johnson & Johnson and Baxter Travenol to name a few. After years of being an engineer, he decided to change careers and become a private contractor. He did amazing things with people’s home. There was little that he could not do.
Charles was proceeded in death by his father, Charlie; his infant brother, Vonzell, his sister, Mabel Johnson; his maternal grandparents, Sepora Lee (nee Allen) and Fred Douglass Williams; paternal grandparents, LeBertha (nee Stephen) and Charlie Johnson Sr. He is survived by his mother, Agnes Johnson; siblings Leroy (Carmen) Johnson, Jeanette (Maurice) Johnson, Shirley (Nathaniel) Williams-Richmond, Julita (Darren) Johnson-Phillips, Taurus Johnson, Annie Mae Euell, and Mary Pitts; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins; and special friends Susan Ballun, Arunee Walls, Kim Nguyen and Mei Chueng.
