Genetta Parks Obituary

Genetta Lavern Parks was born February 13, 1973 in Chicago, Illinois to Hansell Devan Parks and Genell (nee Ratcliffe) Parks.  She was the oldest of two children born to this union.  She accepted Christ at an early age and attended First Corinthians Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late, Pastor Harvey Spivey.  She continued in her faith and joined the House of Hope Ministries under the leadership of Apostle Kathleen Miles and attended until her health prevented her from being in worship service.

Genetta attended elementary school in Maywood, Illinois.  She graduated from Proviso East High School.  She attended Catherine College in the Chicago Loop and received an Associate’s degree.  Genetta was employed in baggage claim at O’Hare International Airport.  Genetta worked many years as a secretary for USF Worldwide, Inc.  She loved working at People’s Cab as a dispatcher.  She also enjoyed working as a DoorDash delivery person.

She loved watching movies and never met a stranger.  She also enjoyed listening to music and loved driving.  She was always eager to assist in the transportation of her family and friends.  She was also known for her ability to indulge in a delicious meal and was full of life.  She was a vibrant person, outgoing, enthusiastic and was never shy on words.
