James McField, Jr. was born on December 23, 1944 in Minter City Mississippi to James McField, Sr. and Lula Mae Wilson. He attended West District High School in Sumner, Mississippi.
James moved to Chicago in the 1960’s. He worked at SweetHeart Cup Company and in construction. He briefly returned to Mississippi in 1997 to take care of his ailing mother.
James confessed Christ at an early age and joined Swamp Grove M.B.C. in Phillip, Mississippi.
On Saturday, May 4, 2019, James made his transition from earth to glory. He leaves to cherish his memory: Six children Melvin Capler (Floroida) of Cedar Park TX; Monica Renee Thompson (Jeffery) of Montgomery AL, LaVetti Johnson of Itta Bena, MS, Everett Starks (Melissa) of Tampa, FL; Tanya McField-Sharp (James) of Memphis TN and Anton Williams Sr., of Chicago IL. Fifteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Three brothers and two sisters: Versie Williams of Chicago IL; Vera McField of Chicago, IL (preceded him in death); Buster McField (Joyce), Broadview, IL; Jessie Wilson (Kafayat) of Alsip, IL; Mary Sanders (Eligah) of Chicago, IL and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
