Jerkenual “Shane” Robinson was born August 30, 1975 in Joliet, Illinois to Maggie D. (Love) Robinson and Jason McNear.
He accepted Christ at an early age and attended Prayer Tower Church of God in Christ in Joliet, Illinois.
Jerkenual attended school at Richland Elementary School in Joliet, Illinois and was also a member of the basket team. He continued his love for sports and played football and earned the nickname “Train” and also played basketball at Lockport Township High School where he later graduated. He received a bachelor’s of science degree from St. Xavier University in Chicago, Illinois and there too was a member of the football team. He was an English major and worked as a Teacher at HL Richards High School in Oak Lawn, Illinois. He was an avid sports fan and was particularly fond of all sports.
The Lord called him home on Wednesday, September 4, 2019 in Joliet, Illinois. There is not a soul who can change the date that the Lord was going to call you; because we all have a day already picked out for us.
Fond memories, we never hung up the phone until we said, “I Iove you.” He would always say after I said “I love you” back, he would say “I know,” that was our thang.
Jerkenual is survived by his two loving children; Kyle Robinson of Matteson, IL and Anyia Robinson of Texas; his parents, Maggie (Arbender) Robinson of Crest Hill, IL and Jason McNear of Joliet, IL; seven siblings, Kataya Thompson, Arbender J. Robinson, Deona McNear, Brandy McNear, Jasmine McNear and Jason McNear, Jr.; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
