Maudie Carr Obituary

Maudie Mae Carr, affectionately known as “Aunt Maudie” was born October 28, 1934 and made her departure on Thursday, December 5, 2019.  She was born in Louin, Mississippi to the proud parents of Fate and Callie Carr who both preceded her in death.  She was one of sixteen children born to this union; Versie Triplett, Vera Carr, Lena Jones, Irene Love, Ida Sims, Claudia Mae Walker, Eva Dee Johnson, Vida Hamilton, Geraldine Creal, John Willie Carr, Carzell Carr, Curtis Carr, Vidamin Carr, Charles Carr, Terry Carr, and last but not least, Maudie Mae Carr.

Maudie Mae had really fond memories of her days of education at Mt. Prospect School, where she and her cousin Hazel Endicot attended.  As life unfolded, Maudie Carr moved to Joliet, Illinois and started a life-long career at Caterpillar Tractor Company which she retired with over 30 years of service.

Maudie Mae Carr gave her life to Christ at an early age and continued her walk of faith and later became a faithful member of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church and served as a servant of the usher board.

Maudie Mae Carr had no children of her own but was blessed with many nieces, nephews, great and great-great.

She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings; two honorable nieces, Willie Mae Stokes and LeFlorence Carr-Dula.

She leaves to cherish her memories and celebrate her life; long life confidant, Queen (Isaiah Sr.) Dickerson; her special nephew, Winfred Jones and best friend forever, Josephine Hardy; and a host of family, cousins, beloved friends (old and new).
