Paula Kaye Luckey, lovingly known as “Nick” or “Nick Patty” to family and friends was born in Water Valley, Mississippi on January 21, 1960. The eighth of nine children born to the union of Clifton and Margaret Avent.
She accepted Christ at an early age and recently united with the New Testament Fellowship Church under the leadership of Pastor James Starks.
Paula made her transition from her earthly home to her heavenly home on Tuesday, August 6, 2019 at Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox, IL after a battle with cancer.
She is preceded in death by her parents; Clifton and Margaret Avent; three brothers, Huri Avent, James Harris and Timothy Avent; two sisters, Linda Townsend and Eva Caldwell.
Paula is survived by her husband, Eugene Luckey; two sons, Keante Luckey and Keaunie Luckey; three sisters, Betty Bobo, Rosie Avent and Wanda Avent; one brother, Garland (Pamela) Avent; step father, L.B. House and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends and her church family; two special friends, John Span and Earnestine Brown.
“Sleep on sister and take your rest for God saw that you were tired, so he called you home to be with Him and although we loved you dearly, we know that God loves you best.”
