Tafford Lee Holman

Tafford Lee Holman was born April 28, 1949 to Eddie Tafford Holman and Ella Beatrice Holman (Eskridge). He departed this life on Friday, July 12, 2019. Eddie Tafford Holman and Ella Beatrice Holman (Eskridge) Out of this union three children were born; Annie Gholston (Robert), Joliet, IL Vanessa Shorter (Tommie) Merrillville, IN.  Eddie and Ella divorced and she married Carlton Glover.  To this union, three children were born; Phyllis Webster (Harlan) Seattle WA, Rocky Glover (Deceased) Gail, and Denise Murphy Merrillville, IN with more extended family in Chicago.

Tafford married Carolyn Alexander-Holman (Deceased) and to this union a daughter was born, Stephanie Alexander-Holman-James (Jerome) Joliet, IL. He also has a son, Tenail Sims (Deceased). Tafford Lee Holman was preceded in death by his grandparents, father and mother (Eddie and Ella), his wife, (Carolyn Alexander-Holman), brother, (Rocky Glover) and son, (Tenail Sims).

Tafford leaves to cherish his memories his daughter, Stephanie Alexander-Holman-James (Jerome); seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; three sisters, Annie Gholston (Robert) Phyllis Webster (Harlan), Vanessa Shorter (Tommie).  There are a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.

A longtime special friend Evelyn Haffler who has been a part of the journey.  We all appreciate you.

Tafford was a lifelong resident of Joliet with a short stay in Gary, Indiana.  Tafford attended Lockport School. In his exploits he worked in construction, welding, and obtained his EMT certification.  He would later discover his artistic ability.  Tafford's conversations always centered on his family, an unbreakable bond with all his family that will last a lifetime. Tafford Lee Holman was battling cancer and departed this life on July 12, 2019. He would like to let you know his time has been served and he has been pardoned to the pearly gates of Heaven no more pain, no more suffering and no more cancer. Heaven is my home now a celebration of eternal life may his love for his family and friends forever live in your hearts until we meet again.
