Lionel Dwayne Loper, Sr.  (Vinnie, Wee feet) was born on September 21, 1978 to Mattie Pearl Loper.  God called him home on Friday, December 28, 2018.

He accepted Christ at a young age and continued in his faith.  He attended Joliet Public Schools and graduated from Joliet West High School.  He was employed as a laborer locally for Walmart Warehouse and worked for a short time at DHL warehouse.  He was also an entrepreneur and prepared taxes for family and friends.

Lionel had a love for sports, grilling and fishing.  He specifically loved the Chicago sports teams; the Bulls, Bears and the Cubs.  He loved playing anything with competition, because he almost always won.  His favorite games were Family Feud, Atari, PlayStation and Wii.  Lionel was also a founding member of Heaven City, Inc. (a local record label) where he did everything that was needed.

Lionel was preceded in death by his son, Lijah Loper; father, Jack McCormick; grandparents, Elijah and Ruby Traylor and brothers, Tyrone and Eddie McCormick.

Lionel leaves to celebrate and cherish his memories; four children, Lexus, Lionae, Lionel Jr. and Lijahna Loper; mother Mattie (Traylor) Loper; siblings, Lisa Loper-Houston, Doris, James and Garland McCormick; favorite nieces and nephew, Mary, Mylisa and Dondre; great nieces and nephews, Aaliyah, Jay and Jiyah Houston; aunts, Pearl Perry, Bessie Nobles and Linda Traylor; uncles, Roy (Eloise) Traylor of Millry, AL, Stanley Traylor of Plainfield, IL and Tommie McDonald and Mack McCormick, both of Chicago, IL; and a host of special relatives and friends.

I thank God that He allowed me to have you as a part of my life and that the last words we spoke were I love you. Our friendship went back 21 years and I am grateful that we kept in touch always no matter the distance or circumstance! You'll always be a part of my heart!
