Albert Sturdivant Jr. Obituary

Albert (AJ) Lamont Sturdivant Jr., affectionately known as AJ was born on September 10, 1994 in Chicago, Illinois to his loving parents, Valerie Ann Pace and Albert Sturdivant Sr.  As the youngest of three siblings, AJ brought joy and laughter to his family from the very beginning.  He navigated the world alongside his two older brothers, Timothy and Anthony.

AJ embarked on his education journey at Marcus Garvey Elementary School in Chicago, Illinois and later attended Dirksen and Hufford Junior High School in Joliet, Illinois.  His determination led him to successfully obtaining his G.E.D. and Welding Certification at Job Corps in Brooksville, Mississippi.  AJ's passion for learning and dedication shone brightly throughout his academic endeavors.

Upon graduating from Job Corps., AJ returned to his hometown of Joliet, Illinois where he reunited with his high school love, Tricia Lawson.  Together they formed a beautiful family, welcoming Elijah (Eli) Sturdivant and raising Tricia's two children, Evan and Eva Larson.  AJ's commitment to his family was unwavering, creating a bond that was the cornerstone of their lives.

In the professional realm, AJ contributed to his skills to various warehouses across the Joliet area.  His strong work ethic and commitment to excellence were evident in every task he undertook.  Beyond his professional life, AJ found joy in the company of friends, a passion for sports and the camaraderie of video games.

On Sunday, November 12, 2023, God called upon AJ, sending his angel to carry him home.  AJ leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories.  He is survived by his parents, Valerie Pace and Albert Sturdivant Sr.; his son, Elijah Sturdivant; his girlfriend, Tricia Larson and stepchildren, Evan and Eva Larson; and his two older brothers, Timothy and Anthony Smith. AJ's memory will also be lovingly preserved by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews on both sides of the family.

As AJ joins his maternal grandparents, Christine and Lawyer Pace; his aunt, Lashonda Pace, who preceded him in death.  We celebrate a life well lived and remember the warmth, kindness and love he shared with all who had the privilege of knowing him.

In our hearts, AJ will forever he remembered as devoted son, a loving father and cherished friend.  May he rest in eternal peace.
