Anthony Hardy Obituary

Anthony Tony Hardy was born January 4, 1954 to Charles Hardy and the late Geraldine Hardy. He was the fourth of eight children. Anthony graduated from DuSable High School in 1972. He went on to serve his country in the United States Army and continued his education at Chicago State University. He met the love of his life, Mary Hardy and married her in 1976. He went on to work at the United States Post Office and he retired as a truck driver.  

He was a loving, devoted family man, husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He loved spending quality time with his loved ones. Family meant everything to Tony. He never missed a birthday, graduation or any type of celebration with his family. He prided himself on being present and prompt. Anthony loved traveling. One of his favorite pass times was visiting casinos across the country. Not only did he travel across the country, but he also had the opportunity to visit other countries as well. Tony could walk into a room full of stranger and hold a conversation as though he has known them forever. He would always leave a lasting impression on everyone he would meet. It was his sense of humor and kind soul that attracted people to him. Along his life journey he helped many people and left lasting impression.

Anthony was preceded in death by his mother, Geraldine Hardy and his brothers, Charles (Penny) Hardy and Jerry Hardy.

Tony leaves to cherish his father, Charles Hardy, wife, Mary Hardy, his children, Tony Chriss Jackson (Nathanial), Gary Chriss, Tawanna Edwards (Wesley), Tonya Brown (Charles), Tiffany Hardy, Anthony Hardy. Grandchildren, Tywan Johnson, TaDaija Brown, Tamaiah Nickerson, Charles Brown, Morgan Nickerson. His sister Joyce Hollins, sister Pamela Hardy, sister Diane Swanigan (Kenneth), brother Larry Hardy (Nena) and brother, Robert Hardy (Shannon). He also leaves behind a host of nieces,
