Anthony Mitchell

Anthony Joseph Mitchell was born July 1, 1958 to Janet (nee Bell) Mitchell and Samuel L. Mitchell in Joliet, Illinois. He departed this life on Tuesday, April 13, 2021 at OFS St. Anthony Medical Center in Rockford, Illinois.

Anthony accepted Christ at an early age. He attended St. Mary’s Carmelite Grade School and graduated from Joliet Township High School in 1976. 

Anthony was a former employee of Joliet Iron and Steel Company, Folger Adams, and Argonne National Laboratory.

Anthony had many skills, fixing almost anything he put his hands to the task to do, as-well-as using his skills to produce many artistic drawings. He loved and enjoyed riding his bike, listening to music, and fishing.

He is preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents; his wife, Kathleen Reardon-Mitchell; mother, Janet Mitchell; two stepdaughters, Shawana and Corie; and sister-in-law, Kathy Mitchell.  

Anthony leaves to cherish his memory: his father Sam (Lorine); five sisters, Eva, Constance, Kimberly, Dana (Tony) and Carmen (Jerome-deceased); three brothers, Samuel, Julian (Sunshine) and John; stepbrother, Anthony (Rachael); stepdaughter, Natasha, and stepson, Lucius “Tubby”; special friend, Dianaa; numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
