Apostle George Guilford Obituary

Apostle George Guilford was born on May 6, 1966, to Patricia Ann Edwards-Guilford-Hargrave and George Guilford Sr., who both preceded him in death, along with his older sister, Paula Clemons. He married his beautiful wife, First Lady Charolette Guilford on February 14, 2002. With 19 years of marriage, They raised their children, Joshua and Geoffrey Hills, one daughter, Chayah Guilford and son, Anthony Scott.

He grew up in the rough, Inglewood neighborhood on Chicago’s south side. With him being an only child at the time, He clinged mostly to his uncles, which helped mold him into the young man he would become. This included Uncle Moon, Larry and Jimmy. From each, he developed different attributes; Taking on clients in a famous Chicago hair salon as an apprentice at age 13, for Uncle Moon,  “MoonMan” would also give him a sense of fashion and love for fine cars. Being around his other uncles, He would inherit his charisma and comedic personality. As he gained siblings, he became their babysitter and taught them many traits, which are still applicable in their adult lives.

Apostle George developed an interest in music, falling in love with artists like James Brown, Prince and the Revolution, Bootsy Collins and so on. He taught himself to play the guitar, bass guitar, piano and drums. As many of us, he went through his worldly phases, which caused him to struggle with what God had in store for him. He was mostly raised by his grandmother, who loved God and poured into him as he witnessed her perform signs, miracles and wonders. Throughout his young adult life, he’d often visit different churches and would be called out by their leaders, speaking prophetically into his life.

Like many that are called, he ran until he could no longer. In 2002, he began dating First Lady Charolette, who was already attending Living Word Christian Center. They both rededicated their life to Christ.  He then began persuading his siblings to come to service weekly, until they all were saved and baptized. Apostle Guilford studied vigorously under Dr. Bill Winston’s teaching. Throughout his spiritual developement, Apostle George would try his hand in several businesses, from his own line of lotions, bodywash, hair products and fragrances, to selling cars. He also had a very talented band of musicians, “Bread of Life”. When he wasn’t studying his bible, you could most certainly find him playing a Bass Guitar somewhere.

In 2005, He trusted God enough to put all things aside and founded Ultimate Faith Christian Center. He became a mighty general for the Kingdom, allowing God to use him to perform signs, miracles and wonders. He taught the word of God and principles of faith, as he demonstrated his own faith, producing countless testimonies. One of many, was his desire to be on television with other great spiritual leaders. He confessed constantly that he would be on television, and it came to pass. He loved his wife, children and family, and everyone with the love of Christ and would pour into anyone he could. He strongly admired Dr. Winston as his own spiritual father. With that, you can say LWCC had a baby and named it UFCC!  “Say Amen To That!”

God gave him a vision that we will hold on to. If you didn’t have the opportunity to know Apostle George very well,  just know that he was a man of “Ultimate Faith” and stood on the entire word of God until he closed his eyes and returned to the Lord. Apostle George leaves behind to mourn, his son, Anthony Scott, his daughter Chayah Guilford, and his stepsons, Josh and Geoffrey Hills; His siblings, Boysie Guilford wife (Felisha Guilford,) Randall Guilford, Iris Guilford-Wells(husband Tony Wells), Lance Guilford (wife Danniella Guilford), His stepsister Swantice Johnson,(husband Frank Johnson a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, close friends and the entire Ultimate Faith Christian Center Family.
