Bernard L. Dixon affectionately known as Cash, was born October 29, 1937 to the union of Benjamin Dixon and Leora (Hill) Dixon in Chicago, Illinois.
Dixon attended Catholic and Chicago Public schools, later attending Chicago State University, studying Business Management. The growth Dixon strived for includes 22 years, 5 months and 5 days serving the United States Army and an Army Recruiter. He also worked at Harrah’s Casino as a Security Officer and Joliet Township High School as a bus driver until his retirement.
Dixon was very active in the neighborhood and outside activities; (he was the barbeque king).
Bernard passed away on Thursday, June 4, 2026 at Meadowbrook Manor in Bolingbrook, Illinois.
Bernard leaves to cherish his memory; two daughters, Janice Maria Rosemond of Round Rock, TX and Carol Lynn Pope of Austin, TX; two grandsons, Jonathon Wade Rosemond and Jarren Mychal Rosemond; great granddaughter, Dezirae Brielle Rosemond; devoted and loyal friend, Diana Washington and an adopted son, Tyler Washington (his true partner in crime). He also leaves behind numerous cousins and friends to cherish his memory.
