Betty Clark, age 75, passed away on Saturday, October 7, 2023 at Advocate Suburban Hospital in Hazel Crest, IL., after a short illness.
Betty was born February 23, 1948 in Jackson, TN to Agnes and Dave Curry. The family moved to Joliet in the early 1950s. Betty attended the Joliet grade schools and Joliet Central. She worked for Shelby Craft in Joliet for a short while. She later worked at Sunny Hill Nursing Home for 28 years.
On February 11, 1967, Betty met the love of her life when she was introduced to Fredie by her step-father. They always considered that date as an anniversary. They married August 30, 1969. They recently joked that they have made it 56 years and they want to make it to 60. Betty will always be remembered for her quiet and mild demeanor.
Betty enjoyed being a wife and mother. She also enjoyed sewing, in which she was able to make clothing without a pattern. Betty had studied the Bible and was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. She was more actively involved in her ministry before her illnesses.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents and son Freddie DeCarlo. Sister Lillie Gregory and Brother Jerry Curry.
Betty is survived by her husband, Fredie. Son Andre (Stacy) of Joliet; Trent Davis of Chicago, IL; granddaughters, Andrea and Jordan Clark of Jolie, IL; brother, The Reverend David Curry of Jackson, TN; in-laws, William (Marie) of Houston, TX, Hazel Harris of Joliet, IL; Janie (Ronald) Ballard of Joliet, IL, Forrest Harris of Joliet, IL, Monterry (Cynthia) of Ottawa, IL, Cynthia Harris-Lanners of Joliet, IL; uncles, Leroy and Will Hoyle of Joliet, IL; aunts, Celeste Heath and Delores Bruton and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
