Blanche Smith

Blanche Smith was born September 5, 1938 to James McKinney and Hattie Dowell in Caruthersville, MO. She was the youngest of six children.

Blanche accepted Christ at an early age at Pleasant Grove M.B. Church in Caruthersville, MO.

Blanche graduated from Central High in Hayti, MO. She was employed at Glass Crafters for over ten years. She also worked at the Palmer House Hotel, from there she retired.

On Wednesday, September 11, 2024, at 6:30 AM Blanche answered the Master’s call, and left this earthly plain. 

She is preceded in death by her father and mother; three brothers, Wilbert Dowell, Henry Dowell, and Willie Dowell; and one sister, Irene Brown. 

She leaves to cherish precious memories one sister, Allene Brown; two sons, Darryl McKinney and Dwight McKinney; one daughter, Keasha Hudson; three grandchildren, D.J. McKinney (deceased), Denisha McKinney (deceased), and Kiesha Hudson; and four great grandchildren, Laila McKinney, Anisa McKinney, Juantez McKinney, and DeJuan McKinney; one special nephew, Danny Brown, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
