Deacon Bobby Louis Williamson

Bobby L. Williamson, affectionately known as “Pop/Pappa B” was born October 8, 1939 to the late Ross and Thelma Williamson in a small southern town called Eudora, Arkansas. Pop was born the fifth child of 14 siblings in which his brother Doug, Stevie, Vernell, Floyd, and Clifford; on sister Betty and one grandson, Dwight James Walker all preceded him in death. Deacon Bobby L. Williamson departed this life on Monday afternoon July 20, 2020.

The Williamson Family lived in Eudora, Arkansas, and was always faithful members of Midway Baptist Church. His spiritual training and development led him to accept the Lord Jesus Christ at the young age of 12, and he was actively involved in his church activities.

Pappa was educated in Eudora Public schools and was a proud graduate of Eudora High School in Eudora, Arkansas. He had an offer to go off and play baseball, but unfortunately due to certain circumstances he was not able to, so he decided to venture off to Chicago to persue other opportunities.

While in Chicago, he met the love of his life, Genevieve, affectionately known as “Doll” who preceded him in death. They enjoyed 58 years of marital bliss, and he was blessed with four children, Sharon Camille, Jacqueline Denise, Kimberly Lynn, and Bobby Keith.

Pappa became a member of New Faith Missionary Baptist Church, first under the leadership of Rev. Leroy Taylor and then under Rev. Dr. Howard Randolph. Pappa served on the Deacon Board many years until his death. He loved and adored his New Faith family and friends.

Pappa’s  life will be cherished and remembered by his four children, Sharon, Jaci, Kim and Keith; sons-in-law, Benjamin, Gerald Sr., Edward Jr., one daughter-in-law, Kimberly Darnell; eight grandchildren, Tamara(Tevin), Gerald Scott II, Byran Christian, Paris Brittany, Navon Yamir, Zachary Elijah, Kayla Darnell, and Tyler Louis; two great-grandchildren, Layla Rose and Gerald III; two brothers, Jack Troy and Herbert Lee(Lillie); five sisters Juanita, Evelyn, Bertha, Robinette(Rainey), and Joverna(Roosevelt); three brothers-in-law, Richard, Eldon (Lucille), and Earnest Jr. (Freddie); five sisters-in-law, Louvenia, Earnestine, Bernadine, Dorothy (O.V.) and Evalet (Joe). He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and devoted friends.

Last but not least, we would like to say thank you to his sister Evelyn and his nephew, Gregory for their love and support they gave Pappa until his passing. It was greatly appreciated, Thank you.
