Bonnie Towles Clayton was born September 18, 1937 in Harrisburg, Illinois to Arthur Towles Sr. and Nancy (nee Duncan) Towles. She grew up in Lockport, Illinois and attended Lockport Township Schools.
Bonnie accepted Christ and was a longtime member of Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church in Joliet, Illinois. She was an active part of the Nurse Ministry at the church and the Lebanon District.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Clayton; her parents, Arthur Towles Sr. and Nancy Towles; four sisters, Virginia Goss, Delores Jones, Harriet Towles and Joyce Washington; one brother, Arthur Towles; brother-in-law, Clarence Washington Sr.; four nephews, James Washington, Michael Washington, Clarence Washington Jr. and Kenneth Fews.
Bonnie retired after many years of working for Lewis University and Wheaton College in the Culinary Arts department.
Bonnie leaves to cherish her memories; her son, Ronald Dean Towles; grandson, Damiar Towles and the Saunders family who cared for her until her transition on Sunday, August 29, 2021 to be with the Lord. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, extended family; bonus family members and friends.
