Brenda Johnson

Brenda Shirlette Johnson was born in Joliet, Illinois on November 15, 1952 to Othell Flowers and Annie (nee Gavin) Little.

For most of her life, Brenda was a devoted Seventh-Day Adventist.  Her bright inquisitiveness on life, fun-loving and wonderful humor will be missed.

She was united in holy matrimony to Troy Johnson, Sr. and to this union four children were born, Troy Johnson, Jr., Terrence Johnson, Dr. Tarah Johnson and Tovah Johnson.

She is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Ezra and Mattie Gavin; father, Othell Johnson; son, Terrence Johnson; brother, Jeffrey Flowers; father-in-law, Manuel Johnson; mother-in-law, Estella Johnson; uncle, Arthur Gavin, aunt, Wilma Page; sister-in-law, Agnes Hendrick, Mary Edwards and Joyce Davis.

Brenda passed away on Friday, September 6, 2019 in Palos Heights, Illinois.

She is survived by her husband, Troy Johnson, Sr.; children, Troy (Karen Hasberger) Johnson, Jr., Dr. Tarah Johnson and Tovah (Karl) Allen; mother, Annie Little; sisters, Denise (Ralph) Brooks and Vicky Blackmon; brothers, Arthur Flowers, Billy (Donna) Flowers and Edward (Mattie) Flowers; grandchildren, Troy Johnson III, Mecca Johnson, Alyssa Johnson, Trenton Johnson, Alexis Johnson and Karl Allen, Jr.; paternal grandmother, Nellie Davis; aunt, Ezra Carruthers; uncle, Odell (Rosetta) Flowers; sister-in-law, Etta Johnson; brother-in-law, Charles Johnson and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
