Bridgette Knox Obituary

Bridgette Michelle Lyons, also known as “Sherry”, was born September 20, 1963 in Chicago, Illinois. The fourth born of the late James Lyons and the late Ozelle Lyons.
Bridgette attended Chase Preschool, she attended Skinner Elementary School, and graduated from Foreman High School. Bridgette also had the honor of being in the Jet magazine during her younger years. After high school in 1983, Bridgette and her best friend worked at the Lighthouse for the Blind.
Bridgette welcomed one daughter, Tonisha Ozelle Lyons and two years later a daughter named Sabrina Aquetta Lyons.
Years later, Sherry moved to Brown Mills, New Jersey and was united and holy matrimony to Michael Knox on October 10, 1987.
Once again reunited with her sister Kimberly Strickland, and while on an adventure in New Jersey, where she became “Nana” to Jermonte, Giovanni, Nekema and Jeremy. A few years later they all settled in Lepanto, Arkansas.
In 2001, she moved back home to Illinois to be closer to family where she settled in Joliet.
Bridgette love crocheting, talking your ear off, and Food Network channel but most of all she loved cooking for her grandchildren Jeffery Jr., Jareden, and a Ayla.
Bridgette was preceded in death by her parents Ozelle Lyons and James Sr. (Iola) Lyons; and Brothers Michael Taylor and Harvey Lyons All of Chicago, Illinois.
Bridgette leaves to cherish in her memory: Two children, Tonisha (Jeffery Sr.) Lyons of Joliet, IL; Sabrina Lyons of Joliet, IL; three siblings James (Veronica) Lyons of Plainfield, IL; Darrell Lyons of Joliet, IL; Kimberly Strickland of Joliet IL. and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and three grandchildren.
Bridgette had a very special friend Ardella Wiggins of 45 years who was very important in her life. As well as a host of friends, gained from the last 15 years at Silver Cross DaVita Dialysis Center of Joliet, Illinois.
