Caroline Brooks Obituary
Caroline (Lewis) Brooks was born September 7, 1952 in Joliet, Illinois, to the late Sylvester and Marion (Williams) Lewis. She attended Joliet Public School and graduated from Joliet Central High School in 1970.
Caroline accepted Christ as her personal Savior at an early age and was baptized at Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church in Joliet, Illinois.
She met her loving, devoted husband, Allan L. Brooks Sr. in 1971, on a blind date. Which ended there until a couple months later, when they ran into each other again at a party; where they danced the night away. This was the moment they bonded and would lead them down a road to 47 years of a wonderful marriage. During this time, she spoiled Allan rotten and had three wonderful children Kathryn R. Buckley (Shawn), Allan L. Brooks Jr. and the late Stephen L. Brooks.
During her 66 years of life she devoted her time to caring for others as a Licensed Practical Nurse. She worked as a nurse at the Community Substance Abuse Center in Aurora, Illinois. While caring for those who needed loving support; Caroline had so much love to give that she was able to love those she cared for and provide a solid loving home for her husband and children. With family being her main priority, she made sure that they knew just how much she loved them all. She provided daily care for her husband in his time of need and health issues. She never complained about the work she did that helped those who needed it most. No matter the time nor the day she always answered the call. She truly was the person everyone depended on and she found joy in it all. Caroline was an avid reader and followed current events.
Caroline transitioned from this life February 4, 2019, in Hinsdale Illinois. She was proceeded in death by: Her parents, Sylvester and Marion (Williams) Lewis; sister, Theresa L. Autman (David) and son, Stephen L. Brooks.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories her husband, Allan L. Brooks Sr., sisters, Rhaejean Lewis and Julia Shelby of Cincinnati OH, daughter, Kathryn R. Buckley (Shawn) of Joliet IL, son, Allan L. Brooks Jr. of Joliet IL; grandsons, Ronald E. Weaver II of Joliet IL., Stephan L. Brooks and Christian E. Brooks of Harrisburg IL, nieces, nephews and host of family and friends.
