Catherine (McDaniel) Sims

Catherine Sims departed this life on November 2, 1989 at her home.  She joined M. Zion Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. J.W. Hill.  She was a faithful member working on the Birthday Committee until her health failed.  She accepted Christ at an early age and right before her home-going, this saint of God made her last unselfish earthly request known to the Father by praying for the well being of her husband.

She was preceded in death by her parents at an early age.  She had one son, Robert Earl Hawkins who also preceded her in death, along with her maternal grandmother, Mary McDaniel of Mexia, Texas; one uncle, J.C. MaDaniel of El Paso, Texas and one aunt, Emma Mae Wharton of Dallas, Texas.

She is survived by a devoted husband, Willie Sims; one sister, EllaLee Jefferson of Dallas, TX; two uncles, Eugene MaDaniel of Joliet, IL and James (Birdie) McDaniel of Dallas, TX; one aunt, Ann Lane of Joliet IL; special cousins Lola (Robert) Gilmore of Joliet, IL and a host of cousins and f friends.  She had one very special friend, Mary Jones of Joliet, IL.
