Charden'a May Obituary

Chardena' NaTay May was born March 4, 1987 at Silver Cross Hospital in Joliet, Illinois to Michael May and Anita Poe.

Tay accepted Christ at an early age and grew up in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.  She later moved back to Joliet and attended United Pentecostal School.  She later enlisted in Joliet Job Corps where she achieved her high school diploma and certification in Office Assistant.

Tay loved being with her family and she loved spoiling her daughter, Neveah.  She loved going out, listening to music and bowling was always a favorite.  Tay was a caregiver and she loved helping people and she loved the kids.

On Monday, September 6, 2021, Tay peacefully transitioned at the tender age of 34.  She was preceded in death by her daughter, Danielle Dockins; father, Michael C. May; maternal grandmother, Lillian Keyes; maternal grandfather, Kenneth Williams; paternal grandmother, Norrisa Griffin-Harris; paternal grandfather, Wallace May Sr. along with numerous aunts and uncles.

Tay leaves to cherish her memories; daughter, Neveah May; mother, Anita Poe; god-mother, Betty Moore; sisters, Erica Poe, Michelle "Lucy" May of Joliet, IL, Lilian (Bobby) Overton of Hazel Hurst, MS; special sisters, Owieda McCarter, Chene' McCarter, Jenny Robinson, Breanna McGee, Jalease Williams of Joliet, IL, Chiquita; one brother,  Victor McCarter of Joliet, IL; special cousins, Dae Day, Connie, Frona, Latrisha and Jakee of Joliet, IL; uncles, Kenneth (Linda) Poe, Wallace May III; Aunts, Marilyn, Melisa, Brenda, Dedira and Yolunda; a host of aunts, several great aunts and many cousins and friends.
