Charles Holman was born October 23, 1952 to Richard and Ora Lee (McNeal) Holman at St. Joseph Hospital in Joliet, Illinois. He passed away peacefully on Monday, January 11, 2021.
Charles gave his life to Christ as a youth and was baptized at Shiloh Baptist Church in Lockport, Illinois.
Charles has always been a hard worker since early on. He graduated from Joliet Central High School in June of 1970. He started in the steel industry in 1980, working for Sheffield Steel, Penn Dixie and Gerdau Steel Plant until he retired in 2013.
Charles also was a member of the United States Air Force from 1975 until he was honorably discharged in 1979.
Charles loved and enjoyed watching sports. He was a self-taught mechanic and an all-around jack of all trades.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Ora Lee Holman; his maternal and paternal grandparents.
Charles leaves to cherish his memory; his daughter, April (Ernest) Currie and one son, Justin Blackwell; his siblings, six sisters, Minnie Robinson, Carrie Craig, Mary Jane Williamson, Pamela (William) Franklin, Bridgett Holman, all of Joliet, IL and Annette Smith of Dallas, TX; one brother, Rickey (Vanessa) Holman; five grandchildren; numerous relatives and friends.
