Charlie Edward Jones, Sr. was born January 18, 1938 to the union of George and Louisiana Jones.
As the sixth of twelve children, he grew up and attended primary and secondary schools in Mossville and Laurel, Mississippi, then relocated to Joliet, Illinois.
He was blessed with children; twins. Bob (Jacqueline) Milsap and Bobby Milsap-Johnson (MS), Charles “Chuckie” Duncan, and April Reese-Wontaa (MN).
He was united in Holy Matrimony to the love of his life, Connie Harris on August 7, 1971. To this union, seven children were born; Charles “Weedy”(Twanette), Nakisha, LaShanna (Latron) Epting, Courtney, Javonna, Parnell and Justin.
The Jones family was united in fellowship with All Nations Church of God in Christ, where Charles dedicated his life to Christ, sang in the choir and served faithfully on the Deacon Board.
Charles retired from Local Union 75 as a construction laborer. He enjoyed spending time with his family, watching Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy and defending the Lakers at all cost.
Charles took his eternal rest on Saturday, May 22, 2021. He was preceded in death by two sisters; Ethel Bourn and Addie Mae Simpson, one brother Otis Jones, three grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
He leaves to cherish his memory; his devoted wife of nearly 50 years, Connie Harris-Jones; 11 children, 31 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, 7 God-children, four brothers; Phillip (Viola) Jones, Otho (Ethel) Jones, Jimmy (Bessie) Jones, and George Jones Jr., four sisters; Mary Jones, Gladys (Roy, deceased ) Shelby, Merlean Pigford (MS) and Mamie Jones, special nephew Danny Jones and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
