Cholie Mack Obituary

Cholie Angela Mack was born on April 10, 1993, in Joliet, Illinois, to Billy Jones (Annette) and Denise Davis (Anthony). From an early age, Cholie’s vibrant spirit shone through her love of drawing and writing—talents she nurtured throughout her life. Though she faced challenges, she met each one with resilience, emerging stronger, wiser, and more determined to leave her mark on the world.

In 2012, Cholie embarked on a courageous journey, enlisting in the United States Navy. Her dedication and bravery carried her across the globe and into history. She served proudly aboard the USS Enterprise, earning the distinction of Shellback after crossing the equator and excelling as a parachute rigger. Her decorated service was honored with numerous commendations, including the National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Navy Good Conduct Medal, Navy & Marine Corps Achievement Medal, Flag Letter of Commendation, Meritorious Unit Commendation, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, and Navy and Marine Corps Overseas Service Ribbon.

After five years of honorable service, Cholie was discharged in Yokosuka, Japan, on May 21, 2017.

Yet above all her accomplishments, her most cherished roles were those of Mother, Daughter, Sister, Aunt, and Friend. Cholie’s heart was as vast as her radiant smile—generous, warm, and unwavering. She would give her last to lift someone else up, and her laughter could turn even the darkest day bright.

Her legacy lives on through her beloved children, Chole Rose Brisco (7) and Chosen DeShon Brisco (6); her devoted parents; her siblings, Tiffany Conway, Larry Matthews, Brandon Jones, Bryon Jones, Lashonda Matthews, Shatara Matthews, DeMario Hall, Antwone Hall, Darius Hall, and foster brother Tyrell Campbell; her step-siblings, Alex Payton, Willie W. Denson Jr., and Mary Denson; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and countless friends who will forever hold her memory close.

Cholie was welcomed into eternity by her grandparents, John and Etta Jones, who preceded her in death.

Though her light on earth has dimmed, the love, strength, and joy she shared continue to shine through all who knew her.
