Christina Myers (Dunn) was born in Joliet, Illinois, to Harvey Dunn and Elizabeth Henderson. She was a cherished mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, who passed away on Sunday, April 6, 2025, at the age of 71.
Throughout her life, Christina enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She had a deep passion for collecting knick-knacks, playing slot machines, and trying her luck with scratch-off tickets. She was also known for her storytelling, offering a unique blend of history, humor, and a touch of sarcasm. Christina’s straightforward nature and quick wit left a lasting impression on those who knew her. She touched the lives of many over her 71 years and remained a praying woman until her final breath. Her social media and home were filled with motivational quotes and scriptures, reflecting her unwavering faith.
Christina was preceded in death by her parents, Harvey Dunn and Elizabeth Henderson, as well as her beloved husband, Leonard J. Myers.
She was one of thirteen siblings, with nine having passed before her: Louise Henderson Arthur Jr. (Dorris Mae), James, Robert Lee (Ernestine), John Sr. (Dorothy), Roger Habeeb Dunn-El (Sandra), Willie Sr. (Mary), Thomas (Betty), Marybell (Earl), Cathy (Larthell), Christine (Leonard), Harvey Dunn, Claudia Butler.
She is survived by her sons, Antonio Myers (daughter n law Tameka N. Myers) and Christopher Myers, along with her grandchildren: Tyshawna Reid, Joseph Reid, Amiri Myers, Malachi Myers, Jenaya Myers, LaDainian Myers, Keandrea Myers, and Miyani Bradley. Christina also leaves behind great-grandchildren Tristan Hurd, Alani Reid, Jade Hurd, and Akoda Reid.
Her memory will forever be cherished by her surviving siblings: Arthur Henderson of Mississippi, Mary Henderson of Joliet, IL, and Catherine Henderson of Joliet, IL, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many other relatives and friends.
Christina’s life will be remembered for the love she shared, the wisdom she imparted, and the joy she brought to those around her. May she rest in peace.
