Christopher “Timmy” Barber

Christoper Barber was born May 23, 1957.  He gained his wings on Monday, June 2, 2025.

Born to Shirley Barber and R.E. Hosey in Joliet, Illinois.  Christopher attended Joliet Public Schools and graduated from Joliet Central High School.  He confessed his hope in Christ at an early age.  He was a member of Spirit & Power Ministries C.O.G.I.C. under the leadership of Pastor Willie Mingo.  Christopher was better known as “Timbo” and was a man of many talents.  He would work on your car, fix your bike, liked to fish but most of all he loved his family.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Shirley Barber; father, R.E. Hosey and stepfather, Marion Tyler Sr.; brothers, Ronald Barber, Arnold Barber, Gerald Green and Willie Ford; one sister, Mary Ann Tyler; stepson, Terrell Franklin; maternal grandparents, Ira and Rosabell Barber.

Christopher leaves to cherish his memory; one son, Christopher Franklin; one daughter,  Myranda Franklin; five grandchildren; 12 sisters, Pearlie Tyler of Joliet, IL, Rosalee Lewis of Springfield, IL, Betty (Leonard) Hudson of Mississippi, Darlene Tyler, Evaline (Joseph) Burnett of Joliet, IL, Jacqueline Tyler of Toledo, OH, Marilyn (Tyrone-deceased) Henderson,  Louvada Barber and Shirlinda Tyler of Joliet, Wanda Tyler of Toledo Ohio, Loree (Cleothus) McKinnis, and Roberta Fandery of Texas; brothers, Devon Tyler, Jeffery Veretta of Joliet, IL and Cedric (Dannetta) Green of Texas; one uncle, Eugene (Gloria) Barber; three aunts, Teattie Campbell and Ethel Bailey, very special aunt, Earline Barber who made sure he was okay every day and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and great-great nephews.
