Clarence Davis Sr. Obituary

Clarence J. “Bub” Davis Sr. entered eternal rest on March 31, 2024.

Clarence was born May 9, 1955 in Joliet, IL to Percy Davis and Eddie Mae Liddel.

He attended Joliet East High School. He excepted Christ at an early age. Clarence worked at Folger Adams, where he was known for his hard work and dedication.  He retired form Crane Composited in Channahon, Illinois.

He wed Deloras L. Taylor in November 1974, of this union, three children were born Clarence Jr., Erica and Brandon and they lived in holy matrimony until she entered into her heavenly home.

Clarence found love a second time with Paulette Roberson to whom he was wed until his earthly departure.  From this union he gained three bonus children; Darius, Lorenzo and Letetia.

Many people in Joliet knew Bub as an avid bowler and fisherman.  He was a proud member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist in Lockport, IL until he was called home.

Clarence was a loving christian man with strong family ties.  He loved spending time with his family and sharing stories.  In his free time you would find him fishing with his buddy Jessie B, most of the time, cause if he was rockin Bacon was rollin.  He enjoyed hanging out with his grandchildren, almost as much as he loved listening to his boombox and smoking his cigars in the backyard.  He was always available to offer support, no matter  if you were 5 or 500 miles away.  He was only a  phone call away.

He was a beloved father, husband and friend who  knew no strangers.  He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Clarence was preceded in death by his father Percy, mother, Eddie Mae, brother-in-law, Clarence Green, brothers Percy Jr, Johnny and his granddaughter Aubrey Davis.

Clarence leaves to survive his loving wife, Paulette; his children, Clarence Davis Jr., Erica Davis and Brandon (Rebecca) Davis. His bonus children, Darius Roberson, Lorenzo (Ronna) Roberson and Letetia Roberson all of Joliet.  God daughter Alyssa Hunter. His grandchildren Nevaeh Davis, Exavier and Elexander April, Hasalia Davis and Rosette Roberson.  He, also, left to cherish his memory his siblings Queen Boyer, Detroit, MI; Marie (William) Harris League City,TX; Elaine ( Clarence ) Green of Seabrook, TX; Albert Davis, Memphis, TN; Maryann Davis, Joliet, IL; John Davis, and Annette Love Grenada, Ms  Shawn (Francis) Guy-Davis, Mableton, GA.
