Clifford Wilson Obituary

May 19, 1970, at Mercy Hospital in Chicago, Illinois, Lloyd H. and Janice Wilson welcomed a 2lb-7oz. baby boy into the world.  They named him Clifford Don Wilson.  Needless to say, he became the apple of their eye.  His father preceded him in death.

Clifford accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior and was baptized at the age of 9 by Rev. Sylvester Smith, Jr. at New Pisgah Missionary Baptist Church. He was educated through the Chicago Public School System, graduating from the Calumet High School at the age of 16.  He furthered his education by attending Kennedy King College pursuing a career in engineering.

Throughout the years, Clifford met many people, some of whom became lifelong friends.  He had a heart that was filled with love and joy, and he was surrounded with family and friends who truly loved him. He met and married Kesha Brown, and to that union one son, Clifford Dion, was born.

There was a special bond between Clifford and his grandson, Armari.  Whenever Armari visited him from North Carolina, his eyes would light up with happiness and joy!

Even as his health began to fail, Clifford remained a loving and devoted son to his mother as he vowed to always take care of her NO MATTER WHAT!

God saw that Clifford had gotten tired, and He whispered, ‘my child, it’s time for you to come take your rest.’  Clifford’s journey here on earth ended at home on Saturday, April 25, 2026, surrounded by his mom, Janice, and cousin, Gene, who faithfully and lovingly assisted him with his care when needed, along with his cousin, Alvin (Bo).

Clifford leaves to cherish his memory his loving mother, Janice Wilson; one son, Clifford Dion; one grandson, Armari Wilson, North Carolina; one brother, Lloyd Wilson Jr. (Carrie); three aunts: Gwendolyn Preston, Las Vegas, NV; Elaine Thomas, Harvey, IL, and June Wilson, Chicago, IL; two uncles, Howard Wilson, Blue Island, IL and James Williams, Memphis, TN; his “sister”-cousins, Glenda Bradley and Sybil Montagano, Detroit, MI; a host of loving family members; cherished friends Garry, Bernadine and Isaiah Wilson, and numerous other friends and loved ones.
