Clyde Williams, Jr. age 84 of Joliet, IL entered Eternal Rest on Wednesday, May 6, 2020.
Clyde was born on August 19, 1935 in Joliet, IL to Lauralee (nee Hardimon) Williams and Clyde Williams, Sr. His loving mom, Lauralee, passed away when Clyde was a toddler and God blessed him with another loving mom, Virgilee (nee Minor) Williams.
Clyde attended Joliet Public Schools. He played football in high school and was known as the “Golden Toe” because of his kicking ability. After high school, Clyde enlisted into the U.S. Air Force, where he did tours of duty in Greenland and Germany.
Clyde married Runnett Eddie on May 14, 1988. They resided in Chicago, IL until May 2004 when they relocated to Eagen, MN. When Runnett passed away in 2011, Clyde moved back to Joliet to be closer to his children and grandchildren. During this time, he dedicated his life to Christ at St. Mark C.M.E. Church. Clyde was an avid golfer, bowler and fisherman.
Clyde is preceded in death by his parents, Clyde Sr. and Lauralee Williams and Virgilee Williams; his wife, Runett; son, Todd Raynard; brother, Walter; brother-in-law, Tommy; sister-in-law, Nazree.
Clyde leaves to cherish his precious memory: his children, Linda (Isiah) Anderson, Vicki (Alrick Christian) Drummond, and Dawn (Elder Norman) Ott; his brothers, Eddie Williams and Roger Williams; sisters, Bernice Robinson, Erma Hawkins, Joan Williams, Alice (Marion) Bell; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will miss him dearly.
