Columbus “Lightning” Jackson was born September 25, 1945 to James and Victoria Jackson in Iseola, Mississippi. He departed this life on Monday, July 1, 2024, with his family by his side.
Columbus worked various jobs, eventually starting his own tire business.
Columbus was preceded in death by his parents, James and Victoria Jackson; and his wife, Ida Mae (nee Stinson) Jackson; six brothers, James Jr., Robert Lee, Percy, Leroy, Aaron, Willie Jackson; and three sisters, Emma Fulghum, Edna Brown, and Josephine Jackson.
Columbus leaves to cherish his memory: daughter, Genice (Roscoe Jr.) Norals of Joliet, IL; two sons, Fredrick (Laura) Stinson of University Park, IL; and Curtis Griffin of Joliet, IL; two devoted brothers, Wellington and Larry Jackson, both of Joliet, IL; one sister, Deborah Jackson of Isola, MS; his grandchildren, Terrance, Monicka, Roscoe III, Tangela, Ashton, Kwaymaine, and Courtesy; great-grandchildren, Treveon, Atlanta, Jewell, Braxton, Kizer, and Kentrell; great-great-grtandchild, A’moura; and host of nieces,, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
Columbus was loved by many, and will be truly missed.
