Corey L. Nobles Sr.

Corey Lamarr Nobles Sr. was born December 30, 1968 in Joliet, Illinois to William Townsend Sr. and Katie Nobles.

Corey attended Joliet Public Schools and graduated from Joliet Central High School Class of 1986. He later attended Joliet Junior College.  Corey accepted Christ at a young age and was baptized at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Willie Lee Wright.  He also attended Mt. Olive Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Wendell Martin.

Corey was employed by The Sandwich Shoppe, Milano Bakery and was a self-employed contractor for many years. Corey enjoyed all facets of sports and was an avid fan of the Chicago Bears.

Corey is preceded in death by his parents, William Townsend Sr. and Katie Nobles; sister, April D. Morgan; maternal grandparents, Willie A. Nobles and Ora V. Nobles; paternal grandparents, Hicks Townsend and Gertrude Latham.

Corey passed away on Saturday, September 13, 2025 at Lightways Hospice and Serious Illness Care in Joliet, Illinois with his loving family by his side.

Corey leaves to cherish his precious memories; loving and devoted children; Cortland Pinnick Sr., Samara Carreno, Corissa Nobles, and Corey Nobles Jr.; two brothers, Maurice Nobles and William H. Townsend Jr.; one sister, Micole Ellis; brother-in-law, Simeon Morgan; beloved grandchildren, Cortland Pinnick Jr., Keiland Pinnick, Loyal Pinnick, Syn’cere Pinnick, Nicolas Carreno Jr., Jaycion Bennett and Josiah Bennett; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins, friends and neighbors.
