Cornelius Cooper was born February 19, 1968 in Joliet, Illinois, to James and Doris Cooper.
Cornelius was baptized in Jesus Name and filled with the Holy Ghost on May 18, 1981. He graduated from Lockport East High School in 1987.
Cornelius was trained by his father to become the great electrician that he was. He then began to work with the local IBEW Local #176 from 1995-2005. With the many of jobs he had, he was always an employee of Cooper Electrics & Sons. He was employed with OnSite Property Solutions where he held the position as property technician at the time of his death.
Cornelius moved to Atlanta GA, on December 31, 2020 to begin a new life with his beautiful wife Elmrya. Cornelius was never so happy about the next chapter of his life moving to Atlanta and marrying the love of his life Elmrya.
Cornelius is survived by his beautiful wife, Elmyra Cooper, one son, Dakhari (Dominique) Williams; three beautiful daughters, Quila Imani Cooper, Imari Ariana Cooper, Krystal Jordyn Cooper and five grandchildren. His father, James (Willette) Cooper of Joliet IL; two sisters, Shirley Faye Sparkman Joliet IL, Brenda (Robert) Bolden of Loganville GA; five brothers, Rodney (Likishia) Cooper of Joliet IL, Keith Cooper of Decatur GA, Leonard (Tamara) Cooper of Joliet IL, Demetrius (Tiffany) Cooper of Lockport IL, Cedric (Ursula) Cooper of Joliet IL, one sister n law Andrea Smith of Westmont IL, one brother-in-law, Gregory Peavy of Chicago IL, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Cornelius is preceded in death his mother, Doris A. Cooper; two brothers, James “Jimmy” L Cooper Jr, and Patrick “Pat” L. Cooper Sr.; parental grandparents, Ellis and Ethel Cooper and maternal grandmother, Minnie Brown.
