Cornelius Harris Jr.

Cornelius Harris Jr.,  affectionately known as “Guy”, was born April 28, 1954, to Cornelius Nick Harris Sr. and Jessie Lee Harris in Joliet, Illinois.

He attended Forest Park Elementary, Gompers Junior High and Joliet Central High School. He was brought up at All Nations Church of God in Christ, where he sang in the choir before moving to Chicago. 

Cornelius loved his family, and his family loved him. He was always a happy person, always making others laugh, and not letting hardships in life get him down. When we think of our Guy, it makes us smile for all the times he brought us joy. We are thankful to God for loaning him to us for these 71 years.

The spirit of Cornelius departed this life on November 24, 2025. On the Friday before his passing, he gave his life to Christ, knowing that was the only way to Heaven. Cornelius was preceded in death by his paternal grand parents; Clinton and Argell Harris, maternal grandparents; Grover and Eldora Alexander, parents; Cornelius Sr. and Jessie Harris and brother; Darwin Harris.

Cornelius leaves to cherish his memories, his siblings; Connie (Charles [deceased]) Jones, Kathleen Sims, Jeanette Harris, Dorice Jordan, Jeffrey Harris, Macio (Dionne) Harris, and Cornelia Harris, and a host of extended family and loved ones.
