Corrine Crudup was born September 2, 1949 in Forrest, Mississippi. She was born to Hezekiah and Bobbie Crudup. She quietly departed this life on Sunday, January 31, 2021. She battled many medical ailments for the past few years.
Her family relocated to Joliet in 1951. She confessed Christ at an early age and was baptized at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Isaac Singleton, Sr.
Corrine attended school at Laraway Elementary, Joliet Township High Schools and Joliet Junior College.
Corrine relocated to California where she worked as a legal secretary for many years then returned to Joliet and worked in the Chicago area. She returned to Mt. Zion Baptist Church and regularly attended Sunday services and Sunday School. She was also an active member of the Women’s Ministry and Usher’s Board before she became ill and was unable to continue.
Corrine enjoyed listening to Gospel Music, dancing, and crocheting.
Corrine was preceded in death by her father; Hezekiah Crudup Jr., paternal grandparents Hezekiah (Sr) and Olgie Crudup and maternal grandparents, Walter (Sr) and Estella Hicks.
Corrine leaves a loving family in the care of the Almighty God to cherish her memories: mother, Bobbie Crudup of Joliet, IL; daughter, Imani Crudup; granddaughter, Sonsarae Crudup, and great-granddaughter, Ava Berry of Los Angeles, CA; also brothers, Lannie Crudup of Phoenix, AZ and Everett (Carla) Crudup of San Diego, CA; sisters, Roberta (Floyd) Franklin and Rosiland Givens of Joliet, IL; aunts, Charlyne Moffett and Ida King of Joliet, IL and Margaret Hughes of Acworth, Georgia; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
