Daniel Wilton West was born in Baltimore, Maryland to the late James A. West Sr. and the late Laura Elizabeth (nee Perkins) West.
Daniel was a resident in Baltimore City where he received his formal education in the Baltimore City Public School System. After graduation, he joined the military where he served in the United States Army. He later moved to Joliet, Illinois where he resided for the duration of his life.
Daniel worked for Toronto Bakery, Crawford Bus Company, and Job Corps. He also worked at Value City Furniture Store as a delivery driver. Lastly, he worked as a Medical Transporter in Chicago, Illinois which he truly enjoyed.
Daniel is preceded in death by his son, Craig D. West; daughter, Caressa M. West Forde; brothers, Richard “Dicky” West, Phillip West, and James West Jr.; sisters, Shirley Webb, Darcel Sanders, Faith Pridget and Finnette Willis.
Daniel passed away on Tuesday, October 17, 2023 at Ascension Saint Joseph Medical Center in Joliet, Illinois.
Daniel leaves to cherish his memory; his wife and best friend, Joslin Hinton-West; his son, Johnathan V. West; his daughters, Nichele A. West, and Tiana L. West; three step-children, Shawn Hinton, Connie Hinton and Maurice Hinton; granddaughters, Tiana Thomas, Laila Williams, Ezekiel West, and Eliana West; one brother, Pierre West; four sisters, Barbara West, Tina West, Melody West, Hope West (Glover) and step-mother, Marilyn West; a host of nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
