Darlene L. Hinton of Lockport was born on April 6, 1964, in Osceola, Arkansas to the parents of John Fowlkes (Rose) and Lillian Fowlkes-Woods (Ivory).

Determined, Resilience, Courage, Quiet, Considerate and Strength are all words that describe Darlene.
Darlene accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior at an early age while attending St. John Missionary Baptist Church of Joliet, IL, under the leadership of the late Pastor Odell Thompson.
Darlene attended Joliet Public Schools and graduated from Joliet East High School in Joliet, Illinois. She also attended Joliet Junior College for continued education.
Darlene worked at Will County Health Department for several years before leaving to raise her children.
Known for her enormous heart and listening ear to many, quiet but meek personality, never loss for words, whether it was knowledgeable or comical, it was all in love. She dedicated her life to her family, providing good counsel with compassion and love to each and every one.
Darlene’s love for her children no one can explain, it was made of deep devotion, sacrifice and pain. Her love was endless and unselfish and enduring, come what may, even until her last breath nothing could destroy it or take that love away.
