Darrin Nelson Obituary

Darrin Dujuan Nelson made his entrance into this world on January 21, 1975, in Chicago, IL born to his mother, Patricia E. Nelson.

Darrin accepted Christ at a very young age and attended Mary Magdalene Missionary Baptist Church in Roseland.  As a young man he later joined Salem Baptist Church.

Darrin attended Haugan Elementary school where he learned to speak Spanish fluently.  He also attended Roosevelt High School where he continued his love for learning the language and served as an interpreter for the school whenever needed prior to his  graduation. Both schools were located on the North side of Chicago.

Darrin loved many things; music, dancing, telling jokes and wrestling, which was his favorite from a young child through his adult life.  He also worked work very well with his hands.  He believed if it wasn’t broke, then he would need to fix it.  (lol)

Darrin loved people and left a lasting impression on everyone he met. Darrin and his sister had a bond that no one could ever break and that most people wanted with their siblings.  Although Darrin didn’t have a father or blood brothers, he had several male friends that he considered his brothers and looked up to.

Darrin leaves his legacy three children; Jasmine Nicole Nelson, Angel Darrin Lauerano and Lanaja Pegan, two grandchildren, Josh Brown and Ivy Mae Nelson, his mother, Patricia E. Nelson and one sister. Darniceshia D. Thornton, three great aunts, Ruthie, Carrie and Linda; a Nephew, Josiah; Aunts, Sharon M. Danny, Allura J Davis, Gwen Culverson, Gracy Jones, Florence Clanton and Lillian Lindsey; two Uncles, William A. Nelson and Jeffery Shine. Godmother, Julia Nelson, God Sisters, Yolando Jones, Sheshonah Turner, Anferttii Boman, God Brothers, Odis Turner, and a host of other Great Uncles, Aunts, cousins and cousins and friends.

Darrin Dujuan was preceded in death by his oldest son, Isiah Dujuan Nelson, and Grandmother, Willie Mae Nelson. Darrin will truly be missed by all that knew him!
