Darryl B. Allen

Darryl B. Allen Sr. was born May 1, 1961, in Joliet, IL to the late Reverend Elliott Allen Sr. and Joyce Allen. 

Darryl was preceded in death by his father, Reverend Elliott Allen Sr.; mother, Joyce Allen and his paternal and maternal grandparents.

Darryl accepted the Lord at an early age and was baptized under the leadership of Reverend Odell Thompson at St. John Baptist Church.  He loved to play cards, chess, basketball and sing. 

He was educated in the Joliet Public Schools and graduated from Joliet Central High School.  He also had a degree in child psychology.

Darryl departed this life on Saturday, August 30, 2025 at UChicago Medicine AdventHealth in LaGrange, Illinois.

Darryl leaves to cherish his memory his son, Darryl B. Allen Jr.; two grandsons, Devaonte Kai Allen and Michael Gualter all of Colorado Springs, CO.; two brothers, Elliott Allen Jr. and Ricky Allen (Kim); two sisters, Yvette Allen of Smyrna, GA and Annette Allen of Marietta, GA; a devoted aunt, Zita Turner (Will) of Joliet, IL; a very good friend, Doreen Howland and a host of nephews, nieces and cousins.
