David Edward Love was born on to the union of the late David and Vera Love on June 27, 1948 in Joiner, Arkansas. Affectionately known as “Big Man” to his family and friends, he spent his childhood at home being cared for by his mother. While at home, a social worker would come over and teach him his numbers and color coding. When he got older, he began working at the
post, where he worked faithfully for 30 years. He made sure to attend the company picnic every year. Big Man loved spending time with his friends, and he also enjoyed music and dancing. He always wanted to be a part of the crowd. Even though he did not have any biological children, he always treated his nieces and nephews as his own, with each of them receiving their own special nickname.
David was called to rest on Saturday August 5, 2023. He leaves to cherish his memory three sisters and two brothers: Granville Love (Juanita), Linda Love, Thelma Davis (Sam) of Chicago, IL, Cleodus Love (Luria Lynn) of Pontiac, Michigan and Birdia Crockett (William Crockett) of Benton Harbor, Michigan, and a host of nieces and nephews. Six sisters and seven brothers preceded him in death.
