Delilah Martin Obituary

Delilah Martin, age 16, passed away unexpectedly in Chicago IL, on August 23, 2025. Her life was just beginning, and it is truly tragic that her life was cut so short. Even though Delilah was taken from us before her time, she was definitely loved by her father, family, and friends. Delilah believed in her own abilities; she was self-confident. Delilah had the ability to express humor in most situations. She also advocated for herself by asserting her needs, opinions, and setting clear boundaries. Like most teens her age, Delilah liked hanging out with her friends, talking on her phone and being on social media; and she loved her dog lady.

Delilah was born on June 15, 2009, to Leon Chandler Jr. and Victoria Martin in Joliet, IL. She was a sibling of nine. Delilah attended School District 86 and District 204.

Delilah is preceded in death by her mother, Victoria Martin; her grandparents, Leon Chandler, and Bessie Mae Chandler; an uncle, Terry Chandler, and a devoted aunt, Joanne Chandler-Eskridge.

Delilah leaves to cherish her memories, her father, Leon Chandler Jr., eight loving siblings, Leon Chandler III (Teneise), A'mariyah Lowery, Naomi, Elijah, Isaiah, Nehemiah, Jeremiah, and Moses. Her devoted grandparents, Gregory and Theresa Martin, a devoted aunt, Sandra Dillard, two uncles, Mark Chandler, and Willie Ray Luckey. Amarrea Chandler which is her niece, and a host
of other family members and friends.
