Demetrius Judon Smith, affectionately known as "Meechie" was born June 3, 1948 in Joliet, Illinois to Samuel and Clara Miller. On December 24, 2020, he was called home to rest.
Demetrius graduated from Joliet East High School and soon after, married Linda Quince on December 21, 1968. In 1969, he joined the military. Demetrius loved playing chess, listening to music and hanging out with family and friends playing cards and talking trash.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Clara Miller; maternal grandparents, George and Willie Mae Jones; sister, Vivian Smith; and granddaughter, Kayla Johnson.
He leaves to cherish his memory; his wife, Linda Smith of Beloit, WI; brothers, Leonard "Butchie" (Pam) Miller of Columbus, OH, Lee Miller of Columbus, OH and Darrell Miller of Columbus, OH; aunt, Georgia Dean (Robert) Scott; daughters, Anitra Agnew of Stockbridge, GA; Angela Agnew of Joliet, IL, Sophie Smith of Beloit, WI; adopted daughter, Trizzie Smith of Beloit, WI; granddaughters, Shambria (Joel) Charles, Nakesha Johnson, Arayna (AJ) Smith, Asia Henderson, Anaiya Henderson; grandsons, Radonis Smith, Bryce Locke; nieces, Jody (Albert) Mankins, Veronica (Andre) Holder; six great grandchildren; special friends, Van Johnson and Wardell Collins, Sr.; a host of cousins and friends.
