Loving Memory of Derrick Wilson
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Derrick Wilson, who was called home on July 2, 2026.
Derrick was born in Monroe, Louisiana, to Sarah Davis and Ervin Dickens. As the eldest of four children, Derrick naturally embraced the role of big brother, offering love, guidance, and support to his family throughout his life.
Derrick accepted Christ and was baptized at age 9, at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, a decision that shaped his growth as he navigated through life.
Above all, Derrick treasured his family and would defend them when he had to. He found his greatest joy in spending time with his children, whether they were playing video games together, shooting hoops on the basketball court, or simply sharing laughter and creating lasting memories. His love for his children was unwavering, and the time they spent together will forever be cherished.
Derrick was preceded in death by his father, Ervin Dickens, and his beloved grandparents, Lula Mae Wilson and Douglas Wilson.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving mother, Sarah Davis & his devoted stepfather, Jesse Davis; his beloved wife, Tabitha Wilson; his siblings, Chrishone Wilson, Shumeka (Antoine) Chandler, and Katrina (Michael) Davis-Watt; his cherished children, Avery Wilson, Deshaun Wilson, Key'ShawnWilson, Korie Wilson, Ja'Kyla Dean, and Kayla Shelby; and his best friends, David Coleman and Sherman Hall. He also leaves behind many extended family members, friends, and loved ones whose lives were touched by his kindness, love, and presence.
Though Derrick's time with us was far too short, the love he shared, the memories he created, and the impact he made on those who knew him will live on forever. His legacy will continue through the lives of his children and the countless people who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.
May he rest in eternal peace, forever remembered and forever loved.
