Devondrey Exavious Cummings

Devondrey Exavious Cummings was born October 29, 1993 in Joliet, Illinois to Sonya Renee Ward and Marcus Cummings.  He departed this life suddenly on Thursday, January 2, 2020 in Chicago, Illinois.

Devondrey accepted Christ at an early age and continued in his faith.

He attended Joliet Public Schools and later enrolled at the Gary Comer Prep College.

Devondrey spent his days enjoying travel, life, and playing basketball.  He was someone who always had the biggest smile on his face and liked to crack jokes.

Devondrey is preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Clarence Cummings and sister, Sequoia Cummings; brother, Maurice Cummings and maternal grandfather, Thomas Ward.

He is survived by his parents, Sonya Renee Ward and Marcus Cummings; sisters, Kierra Ward, Destinee Ward, Quintessa Cummings, Diamond Hobson, Jewell Davis and Serenitha Cummings; paternal grandmother, Dorothy Cummings; maternal grandmother, Renee Pizano; paternal uncles, Abdul Gilmore, Paul Bey and Sidney Cummings; maternal uncles, Mark Ward, Courtney Ward, Tracy Ward and Derek Ward; paternal aunts, Barbara Jackson and Vickie Foster; maternal aunts, Lasmonica Tucker and Tomalisa Ward and a host of other relatives and friends.

He will be greatly missed.
